Led by Head Instructor Jon Horner, our golf facilities include a comprehensive learning center directed by PGA Golf Professionals, advanced practice grounds with a multiple-tee, an all-grass range with target greens, and a special short game area for chipping, pitching, putting and sand play. In addition, practice putting greens are located near the first and tenth tees.

Jon Horner

Head Instructor, PGA Proffessional: Jon Horner

Jonathan HornerJon has worked in golf his entire life, starting as a caddie at age 11. At a very young age, he found teaching golf to be his true passion. Jon has dedicated his entire life to helping others enjoy and improve at the game of golf.

A graduate from UNLV, Jon has learned from, taken lessons with, and worked for many of the top teachers in the game. He credits much of his success to his mentors: Jim McLean, Mike McGetrick, Mariano Bartolome, and Michael Hunt. Currently Jon works with three touring professionals, all of whom have shown considerable improvement on their tour’s money list. More importantly, Jon enjoys helping golfers of every level improve and he does whatever it takes to make sure each student improves.

Jon was recently named to the list of Best Teachers in the State of California by Golf Digest. 

Jimmy Hutchings

Teaching Professional: Jimmy Hutchings

James HutchingsBorn and raised in Wisconsin, Jimmy started playing golf at age 4. Growing up in a golfing family Jimmy excelled and was a high school standout. After a very successful high school career Jimmy went to UW- Eau Claire where he competed all 4 years which included an All-Region team medal his senior year. Following graduation, he turned professional and played on the West Florida Golf Tour. After realizing his passion was in the golf industry Jimmy moved back to Minnesota to become an Assistant Golf Professional and begin his own teaching academy, Midwest Golf Academy. The academy grew each year to the final year when he gave over 250 lessons in a 10-month span to a variety of golfers including juniors, collegiate athletes and mini-tour players. He took over the Director of Junior Development position at Martis Camp in Lake Tahoe. In this position, Jimmy worked with beginners all the way up to high-level players, helping multiple members shoot the best round of their lives. These experiences molded him into a teacher who focuses on providing the highest level of teaching along with a plan to help each person individually achieve their goals. Jimmy joined the team in May of 2017 and is looking forward to helping each student reach whatever goals they may have here at CordeValle.

Angel Cabrera

Performance Coach/Manual Therapist: Angel Cabrera

With over 17 years of industry experience, Angel joins CordeValle as a Performance Coach and Manual Therapist. Angel specializes in corrective exercise, nutrition, strengthening and conditioning, and lifestyle coaching. His integrative and personalized programs have helped athletes and individuals improve performance, prevent injuries, and improve their overall health and vitality.

He has studied with C.H.E.K. Institute in San Diego, California, and has a long list of certifications in Golf Performance, Holistic Lifestyle Coaching, and Sport/Therapeutic Massage.

Angel understands the needs of his clients and strives to stay on the cutting edge of training, nutrition, rehabilitation and performance enhancement. He is committed to changing lives and helping clients reach their goals and looks forward to doing so at CordeValle.
